I'm a little worm!

Story:

Timmy lived in a lovely garden and every morning he would crawl up his favourite tree and lie there eating juicy leaves and watching the beautiful butterflies fly from flower to flower.  And then he would sigh a big sigh and say sadly, "I'm tired of being an ugly little worm.  If only I could fly like those butterflies.   Oh, I want a New Me!"

It's Getting Cold!

One day, Timmy noticed that winter was coming.  "Br-r-r!" he thought, "I need to crawl into a warm place to sleep and sleep."  He began to make himself a little cocoon house.  No one needed to show him how to do this because God had made Timmy.

Timmy worked on his little cocoon all day and but did not stop to eat leaves.  Not even one little juicy leaf!  Finally he finished and was so tired that he snuggled up inside his cocoon house and sealed the end shut.  Timmy then slept through the winter and right into spring, and during Timmy's long sleep, God's wonderful miracle was taking place.

A New Me!

One morning, Timmy awoke and felt very cramped inside his cocoon house.  He wiggled around and nibbled a hole in his cocoon.  Slowly, he began to inch out of his little home.  "Ah," he thought, "This feels much better and the sun is warm.  I think I will stretch my wings a bit and ....."

Wings?  Did he say wings?  God had changed him and his wish had come true!  He was no longer a little worm, but a beautiful butterfly!  With a happy heart, Timmy flew high in the air.   He flew from flower to flower and no one could find a happier little butterfly than Timmy.  God had given him a "New Me!"

God's Plan:

Boys and girls, God also has a wonderful plan for us.  John 3:16 says:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus,
that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life."

God looks down and sees the kind of person we are.  If we are unkind and always do wrong things, then only God can change us.   He can make us into a loving and happy person.

How does He do this?  If we ask God to change us, Jesus comes to live inside us.  He cleans out all the bad things and helps us every day to do the right things.  Would you like to ask Jesus to come into your life?  If you do, He will give you a "New Me!"

God bless.
