Wooly was a little lamb who loved to skip and run and jump. Do you
think he would stay in the fold with all the other lambs and sheep?
Oh no! Every day he would escape and run away, even though the
shepherd called him by name.
Well, one day he wandered far away, jumping and trying to catch butterflies
and exploring every flower and tree. He laid down for a little rest
underneath a shady tree, and did not notice that it was getting dark,
until he woke up with a fright.
He was all alone and he knew there was terrible danger from wild animals.
He shivered with fright and thought, "Should I stay and face
possible death or would it be better for me to return to the fold?"
He shook his head as he tried to make up his mind. What choice do you
think he should make? (Let the children respond
Yes, at last he decided return to the fold where there was safety in the hands
of the Good Shepherd. He ran back to the fold as fast as he could and
jumped right into his shepherd's arms! Whew! He was safe and the
Shepherd cuddled him in his strong arms. That night Wooly slept safely
knowing that he was protected by his Shepherd.
Choosing God's Way:
The devil doesn't wants us to belong to Jesus. He wants us to go his
way. But, we must decide which way we want to go. I hope you
will choose to go God's way and learn to love and obey God.
If you do this and ask Jesus to come and live in your heart, then you will
become one of God's children. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the
Good Shepherd and that He died for us, so that we can go to Heaven when
Our Good Shepherd:
In John 10:14, the Jesus said:
"I am the Good Shepherd,
I know my sheep and My sheep know Me."
Are you going God's way, or running away like Wooly? I hope that you
belong to Jesus and are learning to know Him as your Best Friend.
Let's say our memory verse together, "I am the Good Shepherd, I know my
sheep and My sheep know Me" (Let the children responnd).
