Leaping and praising God!

I Can't Walk!

Peter was a good man who loved Jesus and always did what God wanted him to do.  One day, Peter and James went to God's temple to pray.  Peter saw a man lying at the gate of the temple which was called "Beautiful".

The man was unable to walk.  He was sitting there begging, but Peter didn't have any money to give this poor cripple.  But, he did have something which was much better.  He said to the man, "Silver and Gold have I none, but such as I have I give unto you!  In the name of Jesus Christ, stand up and walk!"

I Can Walk!

The man was very happy when he found could walk just like other people.  The Bible says that he not only walked for the first time, but that he went walking and leaping, and praising God for His goodness!  I think you would have done the same, don't you? (Let the children respond).

Peter used the power that God gave him to make the man's legs strong again!  And the Holy Spirit worked through Peter so that he could make sick people well and dead people come alive, just like Jesus did!  Wasn't that a wonderful and kind thing for God to do? (Let the children respond).

Peter Explains:

Many people saw what Peter had done and wanted to know what was happening.  Peter was able to tell them about Jesus and that He was the One that the Bible promised would come.  He told the people that Jesus' enemies had put Him to death, but that God had made him alive again.

Peter then explained that it was the power which God gave to Jesus, and now to the himself, had made this lame man well.  Many people who saw this miracle believed that Jesus was the Saviour asked Him to come and live in their hearts.

We can Pray!

God used Peter to heal a lame man, and we can pray to Jesus when someone is sick and ask Him to heal them.  Are any of you sick?   Our memory verse says:

"Pray one for another" (James 5:16).

So let's join hands and ask Jesus to heal and make each child well again.

God bless!
