I Can't Walk!
Peter was a good man who loved Jesus and always did what God wanted him
to do. One day, Peter and James went to God's temple to pray.
Peter saw a man lying at the gate of the temple which was called
The man was unable to walk. He was sitting there begging, but
Peter didn't have any money to give this poor cripple. But, he
did have something which was much better. He said to the man,
"Silver and Gold have I none, but such as I have I give unto you!
In the name of Jesus Christ, stand up and walk!"
I Can Walk!
The man was very happy when he found he could walk like other people.
Let's see pretend you were a crippled man. I'm going to
say, "Stand Up and Walk!" (Let the children respond
For you it was easy, but the Bible says that this was the first
time this man had ever walked!
He not only walked for the first time, but went walking and leaping, and
praising God for His goodness! I think you should show me what
that was like when I say, "Stand Up and Leap and Praise God! (Let
the children respond).
Peter used the power that God gave him to make the man's legs strong
again! The Holy Spirit worked through Peter so that he was able
to heal many other sick people as well, and even brought dead people
alive again! Wasn't that a wonderful and kind thing for God to
do? (Let the children respond).
Many people saw what Peter had done and wanted to know what was
happening. Peter was able to tell them about Jesus and that He
was the One that the Bible promised has promised. He told the
people that Jesus' enemies had put Him to death, but that God had made
Him alive again.
Peter then explained that it was the power which God gave to Jesus, and
now to the himself, that had made this crippled well. Many people
who saw this miracle believed that Jesus was the Saviour and asked Him
to come and live in their hearts.
We can Pray!
Just as God used Peter to heal a crippled man, we can pray to Jesus when
someone is sick and ask Him to heal them. Our memory verse
"Pray one for another" (James 5:16).
(If there are sick children, then proceed as follows
Are some of you sick? I see there are, so we will join hands and ask
Jesus to heal and make you well.
