Nathanael sitting under a tree

Lesson:

One day Jesus met Philip and said to him, "I want you to follow Me."   Philip was so pleased and so he went and found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the One that Moses wrote about and His name is Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

"Nazareth!  H'm, can anything good come out of Nazareth?" asked Nathanael.  "Why don't you come and see," replied Philip.  And so the two friends went and searched for Jesus.  When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching He said, "Here is a true man of Israel in whom there are no lies."

Nathanael's Surprise:

Nathanael was very surprised and gasped, "How do you know me?"  Jesus smiled as He answered, "I saw you while you were still sitting under the fig tree before Philip called you."  Nathanael could not believe his ears and exclaimed, "Teacher, You are the Son of God and You are the King of Israel." Nathanael could not understand how Jesus could have seen him many kilometers away.  But, Jesus did see him and He always sees every little girl and boy!

Jesus Always Sees Me:

When Mommy and Daddy are busy and you can't see them, Jesus is with you.  You can't see Jesus, but He is watching over you.  When you are riding in the car, working at school, or playing outside, Jesus is with you and He is watching over you.  When you go to sleep at night and it is dark in your room, Jesus is with you, and He is watching over you.

Jesus does not sleep and He said, "I am with you always!"  And so when you wake up in the morning, Jesus is still with you and is watching over you.  We love Jesus and He loves each one of us very dearly.   Let's remember to say every day, "Jesus always sees me!"

God bless.
