Play-dough Figures


Play-dough is used to make figures, animals and objects to illustrate a Bible story or lesson.

Materials Needed:

Ready made modelling clay.
Alternately home-made clay:
1 cup flour.
1 cup of water.
1/2 cup of salt.
2 tablespoons Cream of Tartar.
1 tablespoon of Cooking Oil.

Memory Verse:

"We are all the work of Your hand" (Isaiah 64:8).

Age Group:

Preschool to Grade 2.

Making an animal

Making the Play-Dough:

  1.  Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat.
  2.  Stir constantly until the material it forms a mouldable mass.

  3.  Set aside until cool and work in food colouring if desired.

  4.  Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

  5.  This Play-Dough is non-eatable but is non-toxic.

Having Fun!

Preschool children love Play-Dough as it is an easily moulded material.  Let the children use the Play-Dough to make figures and shapes that represent the lesson or story.

It makes a wonderful fun toy to help them review what they learnt in class, or to take home and share with their family.
