Before playing this game, clear the area so that the children can run
and move around safely. Select one child to be Jesus and give
him or her a supply of the "Found" cards. All the other
children are each given a "Lost" card. When the game starts,
the children are instructed to do one of the following movements -
crawl, hop, walk forwards, walk backwards, or run.
The children stand on one side of the room holding their "Lost" cards.
The child who is Jesus stands in the centre of the room.
When you call out, "Jesus find the lost people," the children must
endeavour to walk and reach the far side of the room before Jesus
tags them.
Any child tagged, must stop and swop their card with Jesus for a "Found"
card. They hold this in front of them and remain standing still
on the spot they were tagged for the rest of the game. Continue
the game to and fro until all the children have been tagged.
For the next game, use the next movement of hopping, crawling, etc.
Variations:
An alternative way to play the game would be for Jesus to tag a child
who then becomes Jesus, and play continues until everyone has been
"found" . If you play the game this way, repeat the game until
everyone has had a chance to be Jesus.
Jesus Wants to Find Us:
We can run away from Jesus, but we can't escape God's love. The
Bible tells us that "God so loved the world, that He gave His only
Son, that whoever believes in Him will have everlasting life"
(John 3:16). This verse tells us how much God and Jesus love us.
and want us to go to Heaven when we die.
Until we ask Jesus to come and live in our hearts, we are "Lost".
That means you cannot go to Heaven and be with Jesus forever.
But, even if we try to hide, or run away from Jesus, His love for us
never changes. Jesus wants to "Find" us so that we can be like
Him and learn to love and serve God with all we hearts!
God bless.
