Making the Pennant:

  1. Copy the pennant pattern onto sheets of felt and each sheet will make three pennants.
  2. Cut out the pennants before class and with a black felt-tipped pen print "I LOVE JESUS" onto each one.
  3. Cut out small hearts from the red felt.
  4. Let each child outline the motto with a red or green felt-tip pen.
  5. They can then glue their photo to the upper left-hand corner and one or more hearts in the lower corner of the pennant.
  6. Squeeze a line of glue along the upper side of the dowel and lay the edge of the pennant over it, and hold in place until the glue sets.

Memory Verses:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart" (Mark12:30).
"Lord, you know that I love you" (John 21:17).

Age Group:

Preschool to Grade 2.

We are going to make "I Love Jesus" pennants that you can wave as we sing and then hang up in your bedrooms!  Jesus wants you to choose to be like Him in all you do, and say, and think.  You can do this by asking Jesus to help you to always choose to be good.

If you do this, it will show Jesus how much you love Him and He will be pleased with you.  Every time you wave your pennant, it will help you remember that, "I Love Jesus" and "I want to please Him!"

God bless.
