Making the Card:
- Print out the Christmas card front on one side of a sheet of thin card.
- Print the inside pattern on the other side of the sheet.
- Cut out all the branches along the solid lines.
- Allow the children to colour in the inside picture and glue on coloured
shapes to decorate the branches.
- Fold the card on the center dotted line and glue the inside to the front
leaving the branches free.
.
- Pull the branches slightly forward so that the children can "peep-in-me"
at the inside picture.
- Alternately, leave out printing the inside pattern and fold the card in
a conventional manner.
- The children can then write a message inside the card.
Memory Verse:
"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given" (Isaiah 9:6).
Age Group:
Preschool to Grade 2.
Introduction:
Today we are going to make Christmas cards. They are going to be
very special because they have a "peep-in-me" Christmas tree. You
can look behind the tree and see the picture of Jesus in the manger.
I want you to colour the inside picture and glue coloured circles,
squares and triangles to decorate the tree branches.
Baby Jesus:
Jesus was born in a stable and His mother, Mary placed Him in a manger.
Our memory verse says, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son
is given" (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus was that special Child and He is also
the Son of God who died on the cross. Jesus is God's Son and
because God loves us so much, we can go to Heaven and live with Him for
ever and ever.
God bless!
