"Jesus asked, 'Do you love Me more than these?'" (John 21:15).
Preschool to Grade 2.
Simon Peter had let Jesus down three times by saying that he did not
know Jesus. After Jesus rose from the dead, He met Simon Peter
at the seashore. Jesus asked, "Simon, do you love Me more than
these?" Twice Simon Peter replied that he was fond of Him, and
Jesus answered, "Feed my lambs."
Jesus asked the third time, "Simon, do you love me?" and looked at
Simon Peter with love. Simon Peter answered that he loved Jesus,
and Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." And now Simon was sure that
Jesus had forgiven him for saying three times, "I don't know Him!"
Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter, and Peter did go on to feed lambs.
These were people who Simon preached to, and who invited Jesus to
come and live in their hearts.
Simon Peter was a fisherman and today we have made "Fishermen Nets" just
like Simon used to catch fish in the Sea of Galilee. Simon Peter
learnt to love Jesus and to care for other people. You need to do
the same. Think about all the other children you know, or who are
your friends, and those who don't go to Sunday School.
Jesus loves each one, and wants to forgive them and live in their hearts,
so that they too can go to Heaven when they die. How can this
happen? Well, you need to ask these children and your friends to
come to our Sunday School where they can learn to love Jesus. And
then you will be a "Fisherman for Jesus" and this will make Jesus very
Take your nets home and think about who you could catch for Jesus!
