You're not a Worm!
"Fear not, you are of more value than many sparrows" (Matthew 10:31).
What's in Your Heart?
Do you say, "I'm no good at all!" This is what many teens think in
their hearts today. Yes, as Paul writes in Romans 7:18, we are
all sinners:
"I know that nothing good lives in my sinful nature."
If you were a worm, you would say that because you are sinful, God simply
doesn't care what happens to you! And so, there is nothing you can
do to please God. That's nonsense!
Made in God's Image:
God made all of us in His image (Genesis 9:6), and so each one of us has
worth and value in His sight. In Jeremiah 31:3, God said:
"I have loved you with an everlasting love,
and drawn you with loving kindness."
Because we are important to God, Jesus died to save each person. If
we were not vitally important in God's sight, He would not have given
His Son to die for us. And so you and I need to realise that we
are the apples of God's eye, and are truly important to Him. He
made us, and Christ died for us and rose again, so that we can live
forever in Heaven. As such, we need to live in a way that brings
glory to God.
Saved by Grace:
Yes, we are sinners, but we are saved by grace. Grace means the
unmerited favour that God extends to us. We are human beings and
every one of us has value in the sight of God. Don't let a sense
of sin destroy your awareness that you truly are important to God.
Jesus said that we are of more value than many sparrows, and that
God knows the number of hairs on your head! You are not a Worm!!
God Bless.
