Five spokes - representing some of God's values.
The hub - representing God Himself.
Flannel Board to display the wheel.

Text:

Exodus 8:10.

Introduction:
We need to choose our pattern of life-style and values from those God has shown us in the Bible.  God is everlasting and never changes.   He wants us to know who He is, what He is really like, and what His values are.

A value is something we hold to and what other people can see in our lives, for example honesty, kindness and truthfulness.

Love:
(Display the Rim on the board).  This circle represents God's never ending love.  It's like a ring that we wear.  We can turn it round and round on our finger showing our never ending love for someone we love!

(Place the "LOVE" Spoke inside the Rim). God is a God of love and always seeks our highest good.  He wants us to experience His love and then show His love to others.  Jeremiah 31:3 tells us about God's great love for each one of us:

"I have loved you with an everlasting love.
I have drawn you with loving-kindness."

Holy:
(Place the "HOLY" Spoke inside the Rim).  God is perfect and all that He does is pure, right and good.  God is holy and never sins, and cannot stand sin.  1 Samuel 2:2a says:

"There is no one holy like the Lord."

Truth:
(Place the "TRUTH" Spoke inside the Rim).  God is truth and never lies.  His word is totally trustworthy so we can always trust His promises.  Numbers 23:19 tells us that:

"God is not a man, that He should lie,
nor a son of man, that He should change His mind."

God is not like us and so never lies.  Look at Jesus, He lived as a man on earth and never did anything wrong or sinned.  He is God's Son and is just like God.

Good:
(Place the "GOOD" Spoke inside the Rim).  God is full of kindness, compassion and tenderheartedness.  He takes pleasure in providing for His people.  Psalm 34:8 tells us to:

"Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him."

Faithful:
(Place the "FAITHFUL" Spoke inside the Rim )

God always does what He has promised in the Bible.  You can trust His Word completely as Psalm 117:2 tells us:

"For great is His love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord lasts forever."

God's Values:
Our picture started off with a ring representing God's never ending love.  Next we added five spokes that represent God's values of Love, Holiness, Truthfulness, Goodness and Faithfulness.  Lastly we will add the hub which is God Himself and reminds us that we are in God's heart.

(Add the Hub to complete the Wheel).  Now we have completed God's Wheel and it will roll on forever since God is Everlasting and Unchanging.  We have looked at just five of God's values.   But, He has many more values which we can find in the Bible and in the life of Jesus.  I hope that you have decided to make God's values your own.

What Jesus can Give Us:

When we ask Jesus to be our Saviour, He comes into our hearts and makes us brand new inside.  The Holy Spirit then starts to change us so that we want to do good things and please Jesus.  Only He can give us:

  1.  Power to live a new life.
  2.  Power to live right lives.
  3.  Power to please God.

Ask Jesus to plant these values of God in your heart and life.  And then as you live your life seeking to please God in all you do and say, other people will see Jesus in you and His love will shine out of your life.  Exodus 8:10 tells us that they will then know:

"That there is no one like the Lord our God."

People will be drawn to God and this will bring glory to God.  I hope this is how your life is beginning to shine!

God bless.
