God's Word in Our Life

The Bible is God's Word, and is for each of us:

A Lamp:

"Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

It gives light to the way we daily walk as Christians.

Spiritual Food:

"1 Peter 2:2, "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,
so that by it you may grow up in your Salvation,
now that you have tasted that the Lord is good."

We need it to be able to grow as Christians, and please God in all we do and say.

A Mirror:

"James 1:23-24, "Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says
is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like."

It shows us who we really are in Christ, and reminds us that we are made in God's image, and that we need to pattern our lives to be like Jesus.

Our Sword:

"Ephesians 6:17, "Take the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

It equips us to fight and gain victory over the devil's plans and temptations.

Very Precious:

"Psalm 19:10-11, "(God's Words) are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward."

Read God's Word:

"Psalm 1:1-3, "Blessed is the man ... whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on His law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither and whatever he does prospers."

Obey God's Word:

"James 1:22, "Do not merely listen to the word,
and so deceive yourselves.
Do what it says."
