Drip-Drop Competition

Don't spill a drop!

Purpose:

A goofy and wet ice-breaker and team-building relay for a hot day in summer!

Materials Needed:

A black marker pen.
Two long ropes to mark the start and finish lines.
For each team:
An empty 500ml plastic cold-drink bottle.
2 litre bowl or bucket of water.
A desert spoon.
All kids must wear old clothes!

Preparation:

Draw a fill-line 25mm above the base of each bottle.

The Relay Competition:
Divide the teens into teams and line them up at a starting point.  One member from each team (the "Drip-Drop") lies down at the finish line and holds a cold-drink bottle upright on their foreheads.  The first team member scoops up a spoonful of water from his bowl, and holding his arms parallel to the ground, races to the finish line and drops his spoonful of water into the bottle from that height!

He then lies down and becomes the "Drip-Drop" and holds the bottle on his forehead.  The previous "Drip-Drop" races back to the end of their team's line.  The new first person then scoops up a spoonful of water and races to the finish line.  The relay continues until a winning team fills their bottles up to the pen-mark.  Have fun!

God bless.
