The Teacher's Commision

GO and GOT acrostic

Activity Materials:

Make an acrostic similar to the above image, out of thin cardboard.
Make a vertical card with the word "SOULS" on it.
Make two horizontal overlays to fit over "SOULS" with the words "GO" and "GOT" on them.

Text:

Matthew 28:18-20.

Introduction:

In Mark 16:15-16, Jesus commanded us to:

"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

The good news is that Jesus saves all who call upon His name.  Jesus said that whoever comes to Him, He will never drive away or cast out (John 6:37). Jesus wants us to make disciples (followers), but before they can "COME" to Him, there has to be a "GO".

The card has the the word "SOULS" on it.  These souls are the children in your group and their parents and friends.  We can expand the word "SOULS" as follows:

S HARING - your love for God with others.
O BEYING - Jesus and telling others about the Gospel
U RGENCY - as no one knows when Jesus will return.
L ED - by the Spirit in what to say.
S TRENGHTENING - their belief with Scripture promises.

The Commission:

In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave the Great Commission:

"Go and make disciples of all nations,
Baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;
And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the world."

Jesus wants us to "GO" and tell children about Jesus and what He has done for you.  You can share your testimony with your children and as you obey, you will point those that are unsaved to the cross of Jesus.  The cross forms a "t" and when someone responds, you will have "GOT" them for Jesus!

Making Disciples:

Making disciples involves teaching someone what the Bible says and how to to respond to it.  Jesus promised to be with you always, and so you can be assured that He will guide you as you pray for lost souls in your group and share Scriptures with them.  Your way to "TEACH THEM" must include:

T ELL - what you know and what Jesus has done for you.
E XAMPLE - in how you act and speak.
A TTITUDE - being sincere.
C ARE - for them and pray for them.
H ELP - them to decide to go God's way.

T O OBEY - what the Bible says.
H EAR - the call of Jesus.
E XAMINE - their lives.
M EET - the Master and surrender their lives to Him.

Keep these things in mind, and they will help you to teach and share the Gospel to all the children in your group!

God bless.
