Growing as a Teacher |
Assurance of Salvation
If you have never given your life to Jesus, God invites you to receive
Christ as your personal Saviour. God also wants you to have
the assurance that you are Saved, and that you will go to Heaven
when you die.
Jesus died on the cross at Calvary and paid the price for your sins. On the third day, He rose again as our Saviour so that we can have everlasting life. In John 3:16, the Bible promises us:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, What must You Do?
In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailor asked Paul and Silas a
burning question:
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Admit You have Sinned:
To be saved and borne again, you must recognise and admit that you are
a sinner. "Sin" is disobeying God and saying and doing things
that you know are wrong. 1 John 3:4-5 clearly states:
"Whoever commits sins breaks God's law... To be "Saved" means that you will be delivered from the punishment for your sins. This punishment is an eternal death and separation from God. But, God wants to give you "Everlasting Life", which is to live for eternity with God and Jesus in Heaven someday.
Repent and have Your Sins Forgiven:
You must be willing to turn away (repent) from your sin and self-efforts,
and believe with all your heart that Jesus alone has taken your
punishment by dying for your sins on the Cross. The solution for
our sins is to do what Acts 3:19 says:
"Repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." Ask Jesus to forgive you for all the sins you have done, and to cleanse your heart of your sins with His precious blood.
Accept Jesus as Your Saviour:
To "Receive" or "Accept" Jesus is to choose to take Him as your own
Saviour as He is the One who died for you. You could ask Jesus
to come into your heart right now and save you.
Then ask Jesus to come into your heart as your Saviour. Ask Him to make you into a new creation and one of God's children. You must trust (receive by faith alone) the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. In John 1:12, the Bible assures us:
"But as many as received Him, A Prayer You could Pray:
Ask Jesus come into your life as your Saviour by saying this prayer out
loud:
Dear God,
Believe that Jesus has Saved You:
Believe and trust God to do what He has promised in your life.
And then make sure you tell your friends and family what you have
done, and that Jesus now lives in your heart. We cannot do
anything thing to earn our Salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 shows us
that it is by grace alone (God's unmerited favour and loving kindness
towards us):
"For it is by grace that you are saved through faith. Grow as a Christian:
Now that you are sure that you are Saved and a child of God, grow as a
Christian by being kind and caring for others, and sharing the Gospel
with them. Don't forget to read a portion from your Bible each day,
and pray that God will daily help you to serve and please Jesus in all
you think, do and say.
God Bless!
