Growing as a Teacher |
How should We Live as Holy People?
What is Holiness?
Holiness is to be set apart as people who belong to God. Jesus purchased us
by dying on the cross and setting us free from our sins. The writer of
Hebrews said that we must not only belong to God, but we must be holy too.
We achieve holiness as we let Jesus direct and lead our lives as we grow as Christians. And by sharing our lives with others, and in giving and receiving encouragement, loving others and doing good deeds.
How should Holy People Live?Hebrews 10:19-39 shows us that Christ has cleansed us from sin, and that we are being made holy (v14). The writer then lists ten characteristics that we must have as God's holy people:
In the Power of Jesus:
We can do these things since we are not alone, and Jesus promised that He would
never leave us nor forsake us. His power works in our lives and
promised that the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth. This is not
just an intellectual understanding of the truth, but the Truth becoming part of
our hearts and souls. So start becoming holy by doing what the writer of
Hebrews has shown us.
God bless!
