Growth in Ministry
Who is Growing You?
Teachers need personal spiritual development. Are you growing?
A flower looks excellent, but it starts dying the moment you
pick it. It has become separated from the root that
nourished it and supplied it with essential elements. Jesus
said that we are branches that are grafted into Him. We need
to live in Him so that we can produce fruit:
"I am the Vine, you are the branches:
Are You Living for Jesus?
Are you truly living in Jesus? Have you been re-born as
God's child? Has your life changed and are you a new
creation? Do you trust Jesus and have faith in Him each
day?
What a pity if we were to point others to Heaven and they find Jesus as Saviour, and then we are left behind! Jesus warns us to:
"Abide (stay) in Me, and I in you.
Are You Growing Spiritually?
Are you growing spiritually in Jesus? That is the only way
that we can produce fruit that will remain. Only by
obeying Jesus and doing what the Bible teaches us with the
help of the Holy Spirit, we will please God and produce fruit.
Jesus tells us in John 15:7, how to accomplish this:
"If you abide (live) in Me, and My words abide in you, Do You have Spiritual Power?
We need spiritual power - where the Holy Spirit ministers into
our lives. Make sure your life is right with God so that
He can lead you into a closer walk. With this will come
a desire to read God’s word and to spend time in prayer and
communion with Him. This will bring new vision, inspiration
and excitement into your children’s ministry.
If you get excited then this will rub off on the children. If you are growing spiritually by studying the Word, praying and communing with God, then the children will also grow.
God's Grace is with You:
Zerubbabel finished building the temple in Jerusalem with with them
giving mighty shouts of thanksgiving for God’s mercy, declaring
that it was all done by God's grace alone! He succeeded
because of God's Spirit was with him, even though his helpers were
few in number and weak in body. Zechariah 4:6 says:
"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts." God is on your side too. He wants to do exactly the same for you as He did for Zerubbabel. God is extending His grace to you, and the Holy Spirit is waiting for you to call on Jesus to empower your ministry. Are you challenged to go on and do the work God wants you to do? I hope you are.
