Running the Race

Jesus is always with us and ready to help us.

Materials Needed:

Enough mugs for your class.
Drinking Chocolate or other energy drink, sugar and milk.

Age Group:

Grades 4 - 8 (10 to 14 years).

( Make some Drinking Chocolate or other energy drink and give it to your class while you talk about Jesus being our Running Mate and that His blessing is our Running Aid! )

Are you a great athlete?  In Bible times they also had the Olympic Games in Greece.  If you won a race they would present you with a laurel wreath around your neck.  Well, Jesus wants us to be great runners too.  To run well, you need to have plenty on energy.  And so today I have made you some Drinking Chocolate.  It's a great running aid, so come and get some.  You can even have a mugful!

Running Mate:

When you train to be an athlete and run long distances it is good to have a running mate.  He or she will encourage you to keep on when you get tired.  We have a Heavenly "Running Mate" and His name is Jesus!  Did you know that He said that He would be with you always.  Now that's the best Running Mate you will ever find!

"I will never leave you, nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5b)>

Great Athletes:

The Drinking Chocolate was good wasn't it?  It gave you lots of energy, so it's a great running aid.  And Jesus wants to give us His blessing each day, and that's our Heavenly "Running Aid"!

Do you want a Running Mate and some Running Aid?  Ask Jesus now, and He will bless you, because He loves you dearly!
