Do You Love Me?

Peter has denied Jesus three times and now he was hurt because Jesus had asked him for the third time, "Do you love Me?"  Peter answered (John 21:17):

"Lord, You know all things - You know that I love You"

Did you know that Jesus asks that same question to us today, "Do you love Me?"  There are two answers that we could give Him.  I don't know what you would say, but my heart says, "I Love ... Pleasing God".  But there is another side to my heart.  It says, "I Love ... Pleasing Myself!"  Wrong answer!

I Love Card Activity:

If you love doing your own things that make you happy, you can be sure you will soon love everything that's fun in the world, even if it's wrong.  But, Jesus wants us to put God first, and so we are going to make "I Love" cards.

Firstly, cut out your three hearts and fold them in half with the words inside.  Now glue the "I Love" part of the "I Love ... Pleasing God" to the left-hand side of the the blank heart.

Then glue the "Pleasing Myself" part of "I Love ... Pleasing Myself" to the right-hand side of the blank heart and glue the two loose flaps together.  The card can then be folded either side to show "I Love - Pleasing God" or "I Love ... Pleasing Myself".

Pleasing God:

Have a good look at your "I Love" hearts and find out whether your own heart says, "I Love ... Pleasing God", or is it more the truth that your heart says, "I Love ... Pleasing Myself!"

The Bible says that we must seek first the Kingdom of God.  If we do this and really mean it with all our hearts, then we will soon be able to answer, "I Love ... Pleasing God."

I hope you do!

God bless!
