Lesson:
How do you like my hiking gear? (
Parade around the room
making a big thing of each part of your equipment ).
I'm not staying here today, because my life needs to
be full of excitement and adventure! And so I'm
going to do what I want to and have a ball. I'll
play and gambol through the rest of my life!
What do you think of that? You say I'm wrong to do that,
and that life's not just an adventure? Oh, I suppose
I'd better cancel my hike and just stay with you today.
Frisky Lambs:
Anyway, what do you think the word "Gambol" means? No
it isn't to gamble and lose all your money at a casino or at
the horse races! That "Gamble" is spelt "G-A-M-B-L-E".
The word we are dealing with is spelt "G-A-M-B-O-L" and
the dictionary tells us that to "Gambol" is to "skip, clown,
jump and run around like a frisky lamb! ( Jump about and
run around the room in a giddy way ).
Having a Ball:
Whew! That's tiring, but I think you kid's would like
to do that, wouldn't you? So let's play with the word
"Gambol":
You can gambol through life and do whatever you like.
But, perhaps you will land up like the 5 foolish virgins and find
that your lamp has gone out. And that your love for Jesus
has died, so there will be no room for you in Heaven!
You can gambol on Sunday and skip Church.
Why should you learn about God? It's not necessary. You
could find some bad friends and have a ball with parties, drugs
and alcohol! But, how would you ever find out what plans
God had for your life? And what about all the blessings
that God has in store for you that you would miss? I think
that your life will be pretty empty if you choose to do this!
You can gambol every day and take chances.
Why, you'll probably survive if you do something wrong! Yes,
you can choose to gambol through life, but we need to be serious at
times. You need to think about what will happen when you grow
up, and especially, as to what will happen to you after you die.
God's Blessings:
Yes, have fun when you're young, but don't gambol away your life and
blessings that God has for you. Jesus told us to seek first
the kingdom of God, and for Him to change your life into one that
will please Him. If you do this God will add many other good
things to your life:
"But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added unto you" (Luke 6:33).
Make sure that you leave plenty of room for God in your life.
And don't forget to read your Bible and pray every day. If
you do this, you will grow as a Christian and always please God
and yourself. Now, that's a true "Gambol" that will pay off
handsomely!
God bless.
