Running the Race
Materials You Need:
Enough mugs for your class.
Drinking Chocolate or other energy drink.
Sugar and milk.
Grades 4 - 8 (10 to 14 years).
Jesus is always with us and ready to help us.
Today we are celebrating! You are all great athletes and so
I am going to share my running aid with you.
( Make some Drinking Chocolate while you talk about Jesus being
our Running Mate and that His strength is our Running Aid! )
Are you a great athlete? In Bible times they also had the
Olympic Games which was held in Greece. If you won a race
they would present you with a laurel wreath and place it around
your neck. Well, Jesus wants us to be great runners too.
To run well, you need to have plenty on energy. And
so today I'm making you some Drinking Chocolate. It's a
great running aid, so come and get some!
When you train to be an athlete and run long distances, it is good
to have a running mate. He or she will run next to you and
encourage you to keep on going and not give up when you get tired.
We all have a Heavenly "Running Mate" and His name is Jesus!
He is with us always, and that's the best Running Mate you
will ever find! In Hebrews 13:15b, Jesus promised this:
"I will never leave you, nor forsake you."
The Drinking Chocolate was good wasn't it? It gave you lots
of energy, so it's a great running aid. And Jesus wants to
give you His blessing each day, and that's our Heavenly "Running
Do you want a Running Mate and some Running Aid? Ask Jesus
now to bless, strengthen, be with you and help you every day,
because He loves you dearly!
