Here's a Cool Trick to share with Friends
God wants us to be His children and live close to Him. He wants
us to feel His love and share His blessings. Let's say that
this glass represents God (
Show the empty glass ).
If we were in the glass we would be very close to God, but sin and
fear keep us from being with God or coming into His presence.
This tissue represents our sin ( Cover the opening of the glass with
tissue and secure it with a rubber band ). Now we cannot
get near to God because the tissue is in the way.
Sins Separate Us:
I have some coins to represent us. Which one is you? (
Place
three or four coins on the tissue near the centre of the glass ).
But look, our sins separate us from God, so we cannot get into
God's presence. Can you think of a way to get the coins into
the glass without touching the tissue?
You can't? Well, the water in this other glass represents the
Holy Spirit ( Use the dropper to empty some drops of water onto
the table ). God does not want us to be separated from
Him. So Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to help us know and trust
God as our Heavenly Father.
Come to Jesus:
The Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts and shows us God's great love for
us. The Holy Spirit also shows us that all the bad things we
have done are sins, and the Bible tells us that no sinner can see God.
Trusting in God means believing that Jesus died on the cross to take away
all our sins and wash us clean with His blood. When we ask Jesus
to come into our hearts, we become God's children and receive His gift
of Eternal Life.
No longer Separated:
Look what happens when the Holy Spirit comes into our lives! (
Use the
dropper to wet the tissue around the coins. After a few seconds,
the tissue will break ). The coins have fallen into the glass
and that shows us that our sins are gone! And now we can get close
to God and know His all blessings. What about you, are you like
the coins that were separated from God? John 3:16 says:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son,
that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting
life."
Forgiven and Restored:
That means each one of you! God loves you very dearly and sent His Son
to die on the cross and take the punishment for your sins. 1 John
1:9 says:
"If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Will you listen to the Holy Spirit today and ask for God's forgiveness for
all the sins you have done? God will forgive you and then you will
be able to enjoy God's presence again. Let's bow our heads and ask
Jesus to forgive us for all the sins we have done.
God bless!
