Bible Soccer

Soccer Field

Today's Activity:

Here's a great Bible Quiz game that you can make and then play with your friends.

Materials Needed:

A dice.
A score pad and pencil.
A4 sheets of white paper and thin card.
Printed out game parts.
Two printed lists of the Bible Quiz questions (see below)
(If they are too easy, make your own quiz lists).

Setting up the Game:

Print out the soccer field, goals and soccer ball onto thin card.  Cut out the two goals and the soccer ball pictures.  Fold the side flaps of the goals forwards and bend up the flaps at the bottom.  Fold the dotted line of the central part base, and glue the side flaps to this to make a completed goal.

Glue a goal onto the end of a soccer field card.  Add as many other field cards as you like to make a longer soccer field.   And now you are ready to play!

Age Group:

Grades 3 - 6 (9 to 12 years).

Playing the Game:

Choose who is going to be on each team.  Place the football at the centre of the field.  To start, Team "A" asks Team "B" a question from their quiz list.  If Team "B" answers correctly, they can then throw the dice and make a move according the Soccer Moves list below.

If no goal is scored, Team "B" then has a chance to ask a question to Team "A".  If Team "A" answers correctly, they can then throw the dice and make a move according the list.

If a foul is thrown (dice shows a three), then the opposite team can take a penalty kick by throwing the dice.  They then face their next question and play continues.

Play continues with each team asking a question in turn, until a goal is scored.  The score for both teams are noted on a score pad and play restarts with the football placed at the centre of the field.

Soccer Moves:

Each space on the field counts as one move.  An additional move is necessary from the last space to kick the ball into the goal.   If a team has answered correctly and thrown the dice, they will make one of the following moves:

1  - The team can move their ball one space towards the opposing team's goal.

3  - You made a foul!  The opposite team can then take a penalty kick by throwing
the dice and making the appropriate move.

6  - Goal!  You score a goal immediately from wherever the ball is at that moment.

2, 4 or 5  - You missed your kick!  The ball stays where it is and is not moved.

The Winning Team:

The team with the most goals at the end of the game is the winner!

God bless.
