Toilet Roll Relay
Purpose:
An enjoyable icebreaker and team building relay contest where teams
attempt to pass toilet roll tissue between their legs without breaking
the paper chain.
Materials Needed:
Toilet rolls for each team.
Suitable small prizes.
Age Group:
Grades 3 - 6 (9 to 12 years).
Introduction:
Working in teams, the children have all got to contribute
wholeheartedly to be successful in this relay. The loss of
group effectiveness will result in the toilet paper chain
breaking and the team will have to begin again!
In this relay teams have to pass the end of a toilet roll between the
first person's legs and then over the next person's shoulder.
This is then repeated until the last person receives the paper end.
The Contest:
Divide the group into teams of ten or more people people. The
teams then line up at the starting line. A toilet roll is given
to the first person on each team. On the shout "Go" this person
passes the end of a toilet roll between the his legs and to the next
person. She then passes the end over her shoulder to the next
person. He must then pass it between his legs to the next person
and so on until the last person receives the paper end.
If the paper chain breaks, then the team must start all over again!
The way to win is to take things very slowly and gently and for each
team member to guard the paper chain, keep it smoothly moving and
ensure that it does not become tensioned. The winning team
justifiably deserves the prize on offer!
God bless.
