I am going to make "Lofty" the giraffe.  God gave giraffes a long, long neck.  Do you think He did this so that they could see very far? (Let the children respond).  In order to drink, a giraffe must spread his legs wide so that it can bend his neck down to the water.  You might wonder why God made such a funny animal, but it needs a long neck so that it can eat the tender leaves right at the top of trees!  This makes the giraffe special amongst all the animals. We are also very special to God and the Bible calls us His "treasure".   In Exodus 19:5, God says to the people of Israel:

If you will obey faithfully obey Me,
then you will be treasured as My very own people."

Just think of how valuable we are to God.  He gave His one and only Son Jesus to die for us on the cross, so that our sins can be forgiven, and so that a place can be reserved for us in Heaven.  This means that we are very valuable indeed and we are God's treasured children!

Do you belong to God?  Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven and He died to forgive you for all the sin and wrong things you have done.   He wants to live in your heart as your best Friend and Saviour.  I hope you will choose God's way and be one of His treasure children.
