Tiny, my little mouse reminds us of how cute babies are. But, it
doesn't take long for them to reach the "terrible twos". At this
age temper tantrums start to appear as they develop a will of their
own. And when they don't get their own way - yelling and crying
results! The problem is that toddlers want their own way, all the
time!
God has given us each a free will of our own. He allows us to choose
what we want to do with our lives. Our choice grows wider as we get
older and as the influence and control of our parents get less. You
can then choose to go God's way, or you can choose to go after pleasures
in the world.
Jesus said that His purpose in life was to do the will of God and to finish
the work that God had given Him to do, by dying on the cross (John 4:34).
He kept His eye very firmly on that purpose and became our Lord and
Saviour as a result. Jesus said in Matthew 12:50, that whoever does
the will of God is His brother, and sister, and mother. In other
words if we choose to obey the will of God, by doing what pleases God, we
show that we are truly God's children.
Well, cute as my little mouse is, he has to do what I want, because I give
him a warm cage to live in, I feed him, give him water, and care for him
all the time. This is a perfect picture of how God provides all our
needs, and loves, protects and cares for us! For us to please God
we need to do His will, and we can do this by:
You can choose to do God's will, or go your own way. The choice is yours.
As for me, I want to serve my Lord and do His will.
God bless!
