I am making a nice cuddly mouse which you could wear on your wrist. I
am going to put him on this "Stick" for him to climb up. He wants to
remind you that Jesus lives in your heart.
Jesus wants to make us kind, loving and truthful to everybody we come into
contact with at home, school or wherever we may go. Don't fly off the
handle like this mouse will when I twirl the stick (Twirl the stick
until the mouse flies off). We want people to like us and to be
nice to us. We don't like people who are unkind to us, who sneer at
us or say nasty things about us.
What about you? Are you doing these nasty things to other children?
If you do, you are making it very hard for them to like you, or be your
friend. Next time you see them, try and show them the love of Jesus.
Ask Jesus to show you something good that's in them, even if you don't
like them. And then say something nice and be kind to them.
Don't lose your temper when people upset you. Try counting slowly to
ten in your mind and then just be polite to them. In Matthew 5:44-45,
Jesus said:
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be
sons of your Father in heaven."
Jesus wants us to be just like Him. He never spoke unkindly or was
unkind to people who hated Him. If you have ever kept a mouse as a
pet, you will know that they are little cuddly animals. It's great to
hold one in your hand and stroke its soft fur, while it twitches its nose
at you. They are small and defenceless and rely on you to care for
them. Ask Jesus to help you love people like this. You never
know, they might just become your best friend!
God bless.
