The Bible tells us to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. We
need to put on the full armour of God so that we can stand against the
devil's schemes. In Ephesians 6:14a Paul said:
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.
(
As you talk, a child can be dressed in each part of the armour).
We cannot fight in our own strength, but only in the name of Jesus,
the Son of God. Therefore, we must put on the full armour of God.
We will start with the Belt of Truth. Truth is when we see
ourselves as God sees us.
Children often think that if they are good, or because they go to Children's
Church or Sunday School, that they are going to go to heaven. But,
this is not true unless Jesus lives in our hearts. Only then do we
realise that we were sinners before Jesus cleansed us with His blood, and
made us into one of God's children.
(Blow up a balloon and tie it off). I need a volunteer.
Thank you. I am going to make a Belt of Truth and put it around your
waist (Make the belt and tie it around the child's waist).
Now you are wearing the Belt of Truth and I hope you will wear it all the
time! And the rest of you? Make sure you have the Belt of Truth
buckled around your waist so that you can stand firm as a Christian.
Do you belong to God, and are you reading the Bible and doing what it says?
If you do, then you will be putting the Belt of Truth around your
waist. I hope you will put it on today!
God bless.
